OUR BELIEFS
Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God and the only authority for doctrine and practice.
One God
We believe that there is one eternal God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God is holy, without sin and perfect in justice
Creation & Sin
God created all things, including mankind. He made man and woman in His own image and to have relationship with Him, but Mankind is sinful and separated from God.
Salvation
God sent His own Son into the world, the Lord Jesus Christ, to save mankind. The Lord Jesus Christ had no sin and perfectly pleased God and died sacrificially on the cross for the sins of the world and He rose from the dead, on the third day and ascended into heaven. All who repent of their sin and put their faith and trust in Him have eternal life, and will never perish (John 3:16, The Bible).
Baptism
We believe that baptism is a divine institution and command, coming from the authority of the Lord Jesus Himself (Matthew 28:19-20). It is practised by born again believers (Acts 2:41), and carried out by immersion (Acts 8:36-38)
Lords Supper/Communion
Those who participate in this meeting must be born again, baptised believers (Acts 2:41-42) whose lives are sanctified (set apart) as the Assembly (church) is a holy place and all members in the fellowship must be conscious of its purity.
Elders
As per biblical teaching, elders are shepherds of our church who are overseeing and guiding us from many years and have been given authority by God in all matters concerning our local church (Heb.13:17; 1 Thess.5:12-13).
Statement of Faith
We believe the Bible to be fully inspired by the Holy Spirit, and it is the only infallible, authoritative Word of God comprising of 66 books (39 Old and 27 New Testament books).
We believe in one God that exists throughout all eternity past and future in three persons: Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ and His earthly ministry; in His virgin birth, in His perfect and sinless life, in His miracles, works and teachings, in His atoning death on the cross, in His resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father and in His return in power and glory.
We believe that salvation from the penalty of sin is only through faith in accepting Christ as personal Lord and Saviour and not by works.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved to an eternity with Christ in heaven and they that are lost to an eternal separation without Christ in Hell.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit which enables a Christian to live a godly life, which is our purpose to glorify God until His return. We believe in the local and global spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe the doctrine and practices of this local church are in accordance to the Apostles teachings observed in the New Testament books of the Acts of the Apostles and the epistles.
